Premiership Highlights: Harlequins v Gloucester
- 1293
Harlequins edged Gloucester 23-19 in round 5 of the Premiership. Quins opened the scoring with an early penalty, but Gloucester responded with the games first try to lead 7-3. Quins hit back with a try midway through the first half, but a second score saw Gloucester take a slender 12-10 advantage into the break. The sea-saw battle continued throughout the second half, with an early Quins penalty edging them in front. Gloucester bounced back with a try to reclaim the lead, but shortly after a Quins try saw the hosts in front again 20-19 with the final quarter to play. The arm wrestle continued as a long range Quins penalty fell short, but Gloucester missed an easy kick at goal with just under ten minutes remaining. The Cherry and Whites would rue that miss as a huge hit snuffed out their final chance to run from deep, with the resulting penalty at the breakdown giving Quins a four point victory.
