Posolo Tuilagi not eligible for France team

The information was revealed by L'Indépendant this Friday morning.

USAP second row Posolo Tuilagi would not be eligible for the France team.

Fans were anticipating see him during the next Six Nations Tournament in the Blues tunic but will ultimately have to wait.

According to L'Indépendant , the young USAP second line is not elegible for selection in the France squad.

The reason being that Posolo Tuilagi does not have a French passport as he was born in Samoa.

This is a mandatory condition to be able to wear the colors of the XV of France put in place by Bernard Laporte in 2016.

Posolo Tuilagi had already missed the U20 World Cup for the same reason.

L'Indépendant specifies that the steps to obtain French nationality, and therefore a passport, are underway. But it will take some time, as was the case for Emmanuel Meafou, the second row of Stade Toulousain.

In other words, Posolo Tuilagi will not be able to play the Six Nations Tournament with the XV of France.

He will have to wait until this summer to wear the Tricolor jersey during the Tour to Argentina.

In the meantime, he could be called up by the France U20 team to play in the U20 Tournament. But not sure that the USAP will agree to release its nugget for the U20s.
