Pascal Pape receives 10-week ban

Pascal Papé will miss the rest of the Six Nations after receiving a 10-week ban for his knee into the back of Jamie Heaslip In France's 18-11 defeat to Ireland. The Stade Francais second row insisted that it was not deliberate but the Six Nations disciplinary committee did not see it that way and Papé will now sit out the rest of the championship.

With Heaslip suffering three fractured vertebrae it did not make Papé's case much easier and the disciplinary committee originally were going to give him a 15 week ban. However because of the remorse shown by Papé they have reduced the ban to 10 weeks. Pascal Papé now has the right to appeal the ban.
