Munster set to lose Snyman and de Allende to Rugby Championship

Munster’s World Cup winning Springbok duo RG Snyman and Damian De Allende will turn out in their country’s colours later this year should the Rugby Championship go ahead in New Zealand, as is the plan in the pipeline, leaving their new club, Munster, without their services for that time period.

Both Snyman’s and De Allende’s contracts permit them to honour international commitments should they clash with provincial ones.

"Me, personally I will [play for the Springboks]," Snyman said during a zoom media conference.

"There is still a lot going on to see if the games in the Rugby Championship will go ahead.

"But yes. I am lucky Munster are allowing me to play for the Springboks."

Munster will be somewhat disappointed given the significant amount of money they paid to lure the two South Africans into their club’s set-up.

"Rassie is very straightforward so everyone in the team knows where they stand," Snyman conveyed when asked about possible selection.
