Munster into Pro 14 final

Munster booked their spot in the Pro14 Final as Conference B winners with a hard fought 20-17 victory over rivals Connacht. Connacht, needing a win to keep their hopes of a Conference title alive, got off to the perfect start with a Matt Healy try just 4 minutes in to lead 7-0.

Munster had a chance to head into the break all square, but their penalty attempt with the final play of the first half drifted wide.

Munster were level three minutes into the second half after a successful penalty, with Connacht then picking up a yellow card a minute later. Munster missed another shot at goal, but a moment of magic from Mike Haley saw the hosts in front 17-10 after a superb solo try around the hour mark.

Munster were then reduced to 14 players after picking up a yellow card and Connacht capitalised shortly after as Paul Boyle charged over to even things up again at 17-17 with around 15 minutes remaining. Munster had their noses in front again with a penalty after 68 minutes setting up an intense final 10 minutes.

Neither side would be able to add to the scoreline as Munster secure a Pro14 Final berth where they will play either Leinster or Ulster.
