Munster do the impossible and win at Clermont to break the home sides winning home run in the Champions Cup
Munster conceded a converted try to Alivereti Raka inside the first minute.
JJ Hanrahan got Munster on the board with a penalty, but they went down to 14 men and conceded a penalty try, when Shane Daly went to the bin.
JJ Hanrahan knocked over another penalty, but Clermont hit back with a converted try by Damian Penaud to make the score 21-6
JJ Hanrahan added another penalty before Etienne Fourcade added another converted try to extend the lead to 28-9.
Munster needed to score a try to stay in the game, and Mike Haley provided. JJ Hanrahan knocked over the conversion and Munster trailed at half time 28-16.
Munster came out firing in the second half as JJ Hanrahan slotted two penalties to close the gap to six points.
Munster then started to take control of the game as Judicael Cancoriet received a yellow card before JJ Hanrahan slotted another penalty to close the gap to just three points.
Clermont hit back with a penalty of their own to restore the six point lead, but another yellow card allowed Munster to kick to the corner and see CJ Stander go over. JJ Hanrahan added the extras to give Munster the lead for the first time.
The momentum was well and truly with Munster and they showed their confidence as they won a late penalty and instead of taking the points, kick to the corner and surged over the lie with a late driving maul to claim a magnificent victory at the fortress that is the Stade Marcel Michelin
