Leicester vs Leinster: A look at the numbers

The third round in the Champions cup saw a mammoth clash between last seasons finalists Leinster and Premiership rugby giants Leicester Tigers.
The men from Ireland would put on an extremely spirited effort to walk away with the hard earned 27-10 victory, keeping the home side scoreless in the second half.
We take a quick look at some of the numbers gathered during the game for a deeper ananlysis.
Leinster led the numbers in metres gained, with Hugo Keenans 51m gained, being bested by left-wing James Lowes 75m gained. However, the day belonged to Leinster eighth-man Caelen Doris who led the numbers with an outstanding 86m gained.
Not one to be outdone on the "Defenders Beaten" list, Doris finished 3rd on the list respectively, beating 4 defenders, two shy of Leicester eighth-man Jasper Wiese who beat 6 defenders. However, his teammate Freddie Steward stood far abov the rest, beating 11 defenders on the day.
Both Steward and Wiese topped the list again, this time with carries as both Leicester Tigers players ended with 14, two better than Leinster centre Robbie Henshaw.
Ireland's first choice scrum-half Jamison Gibson-Park's 73 completed passes lay way ahead of his nearest competitor, Ben Youngs of the Tigers with his 39 completed passes. Not far behind youngs is was also Leicesters scrum-half Tom Whitely.
South African eighth-man Jasper Wiese along with Argentine hooker Jullian Montoja we the days top work horses, completing 17 tackles each in a display of defesnive prowess. Third on the list was number four lock Harry Wells with 15.
Lastly, European player of the year Josh van der Flier kept the opposition busy at the breakdown, forcing two turnovers. Fellow teammate Doris, Lowe, Gary Ringrose along with Gibson-Park secured a single turnover each.
