Harlequins are thrilled to confirm that Welsh international Kayleigh Powell has committed her future to the Club.
Powell has made 14 appearances in the Quarters this season, stepping in at both fly-half and fullback.
Adept under the high ball and rock solid in defence, Powell is a player with many strings to her game. As an attacking threat, her ability to put others into space with her passing game, as well as her ability to beat the first defender, mark her out as a genuine all-round player in the backline.
A Welsh international with 28 caps to her name, Powell shone in the Six Nations for her country, making 392 metres with ball in hand and crossing for a try against Italy in the final round of the tournament.
Powell has also represented Team GB in 7s, impressing at the Olympics in 2024 in Paris.
After confirming that she is extending her stay at the Club, Powell said: "I'm really pleased to be re-signing with Harlequins. I feel that as an individual and as a Club we have so much more to achieve. Our core values and the style of rugby we want to play really excite me. I look forward to being back at the Stoop next season."
Head Coach Ross Chisholm added: “We’re really excited that Kayleigh has committed to the Club ahead of next season. She can play across the backline and has so much experience and talent in a number of positions. She is elusive in attack and a real rock in defence. I feel like Kayleigh has really developed her game over the last few seasons and believe that this is the best place for her to continue to thrive and show just how good a player she is.”
