A few positives for Wales
It may seem hard to take anything positive from Wales’ 2-0 Test series defeat in Australia, which followed a 41-13 humbling by South Africa at Twickenham, especially as their losing run now stands at nine games, but head coach Warren Gatland can look forward to the autumn with some optimism on the back of his side’s displays.
Despite missing EPCR Challenge Cup stars like Gloucester Rugby half-backs Gareth Anscombe and Tomos Williams, Wales restricted the Wallabies to 25-16 and 36-28 victories with Ospreys flanker Jac Morgan and lock Adam Beard, Cardiff Rugby No.8 Taulupe Faletau, wing Josh Adams and Dragons RFC hooker Elliot Dee all looking promising.
Gatland will be hoping that he can build on the positives for their November clashes in Cardiff against Fiji, Australia and South Africa.
