Japanese Top League cancels first 4 rounds

The Japanese Top League has decided to call off the first four rounds of this season’s tournament due to player welfare concerns and the fight against Coronavirus.

The first round was scheduled to commence last weekend but was put on ice as the virus reared its head.

In a recent Tweet, the JRFU said:

“The decision was made in due to the recent postponement of matches, and also in consideration of players' needs for adequate preparation time before the league starts.”
