Hooper fired up for Bledisloe Return

Wallabies captain Michael Hooper is fired up for the first Bledisloe Cup clash of 2018 and has declared he can “make a difference”.

However, the 26-year-old has admitted that he is likely to play the full 80 minutes against the All Blacks on his first game back from a hamstring injury he sustained against Ireland in June.

The 82-Test cap flanker said he has completed his rehab but an element of doubt has remained with as to if he would can keep up with the intensity of a Bledisloe Test.

He asked if he would be able to go the distance against the All Blacks Hooper said: “I’ll tell you after the game tomorrow,”

“I’m sitting here today feeling great about what I can do and I think I can make a difference in the game.

“I’m going to come out guns blazing.

“Look, we’ll see how that goes tomorrow night.

“The best minutes to be on the field are the back end of the game.

“Yes, I’d love to be there.

“But whatever’s best for the team — and if we can get a really good substitution there in myself or someone else, then that’ll be made.”
