Back trio Izzy Mayhew, Beth Blacklock and Freya Aucken have re-signed with the Club ahead of the 2022/23 campaign.
Young centre Izzy Mayhew will enter her sixth season at Harlequins after making 44 appearances in the Famous Quarters. Mayhew played a crucial part in Quins’ Allianz Cup run which saw the side reach the Final away at Exeter.
After putting pen to paper on a new deal, Mayhew said: “I’m really grateful to be re-signing for another season with Quins. I can’t wait to see the Club’s dynamic with the new coaching structure coming in and helping us develop as players even further.”
Fellow centre partner Beth Blacklock has also agreed a new deal with the Club after joining from DMP Durham Sharks before the 2021/campaign. After suffering with a leg injury in her first season with the Club, the 24-year-old back returned in the Allianz Cup semi-final, slotting a last-minute penalty to win Quins the game and secured a spot in the Allianz Cup final.
Blacklock added: “I’m very excited to re-sign with Harlequins this season. After a tough season and such brilliant support from the club, I am very excited and proud to be able to really come back and show everything I can do in the Quartered jersey.
“I am very excited to see where I can get with the Club this season and how far I can push myself for that Red Rose shirt. There’s nowhere I would rather be and nowhere I think that could support me better. 2022/23 is going to be a good one.”
Harlequins’ breakthrough player of the year, Freya Aucken has also re-signed with the Club after a strong first season. Aucken featured across the backline, which saw the young back being rewarded for her standout performances.
Aucken said: “I’m really excited to re-sign for Quins and continue to work and improve my game. The experiences I’ve had at the Club have been amazing and I’m looking forward to making more memories with the girls.”
