Former Toulon and Wasps centre, Guy Armitage has crossed codes signing a deal with the London Broncos with immediate effect.
Armitage most recently played for Ealing Trailfinders in the Greene King IPA Championship but after having completed a four week trial period has signed at London Broncos for the rest of 2019 and the 2020 season.
Born in Westminster Guy is the younger brother to Steffon and Delon Armitage who both represented their country at Rugby Union. Guy too has represented his country with 4 appearances at under 20 level.
He signed initially for the London Irish Academy before going on loan to London Welsh and London Scottish. He joined French side Toulon but returned to the UK after only six months and re-signed for Irish on his return.
Most recently the 6ft 5 inch winger/centre played for Broncos neighbours at Ealing Trailfinders making seven starts for the union side before spending time at Hull FC and on loan at Doncaster Knights.
Armitage is delighted to be joining London and said, “I’d like to thank everyone for the huge support they have given me in what’s been an exciting career change…even if not a change of scenery!”
“The last couple of months trialling with London Broncos has been a tough but enjoyable experience. Thanks to Danny Ward for giving me the opportunity to get to grips with Rugby League and allowing me to train with the Broncos first team. The players and coaching staff have been very welcoming and I am now excited for what’s to come.”
