Gatland makes one change to challenge the Irish

There is one change from the fifteen that started the match against England at Twickenham on the 10th of February – with Sam Costelow returning to the fly-half position.

Among the substitutes, back row player Mackenzie Martin has been included – and if he is called from the bench, he will be the 1,200th player to represent Wales on the international stage.

The experienced tight end prop Dillon Lewis has also been selected on the bench and is likely to play his part for the first time in this year's Championship if he is called up.

Head Coach of Wales Warren Gatland said: “We are really looking forward to going to Dublin in order to prove ourselves against one of the best teams in the world. It will be a challenge and a half - but the squad is eager to face that challenge.

"We have taken definite steps in the right direction in recent weeks - and we have to learn from the experiences of the first two games and build on that this weekend.

"We have to continue to work hard, be clinical and accurate in our play, keep our discipline and perform for the 80 minutes."

Team Wales to face Ireland at the Aviva Stadium, Dublin in the 2024 Guinness Six Nations Championship, on Saturday 24th February, 2.15pm live on S4C and ITV.
