Friday's Challenge Cup Standout Performers
- 2380
Lucas Meret - Union Bordeaux Begles
Lucas Meret put in a flawless display as his side claimed a narrow 27-34 victory over Perpignan, who are still yet to claim a win in all competitions this season. The 23-year-old flyhalf who was brought in from PROD2 side Soyaux Angouleme ran the Bordeaux attack effectively and was flawless from the tee scoring what proved to be a vital 9 points.
Arthur Retiere - La Rochelle
The pacey winger was at the heart of every good La Rochelle did as they trounced Zebre 32-12 at the Stade Marcel-Deflandre. He scored a brilliant try when the game was still in the balance and was heavily involved throughout attack and defence.
Hallam Amos - Dragons
Amos put his hand up for a place in Warren Gatland's Six Nation squad scoring two tries as Dragons crushed minnows Timisoara Saracens 59-3.
His scorching solo opener was the first of nine home tries, with the bonus point coming seconds after half-time.
Amos was named man of the match in the game where he started in a position unfamiliar to him, outside centre, before shining in his usual position on the wing when Dafydd Howells limped off.
Gael Fickou - Stade Francais
The French International continued his fine form for the Paris based side against a spirited Pau.
Fickou scored a try inside the first ten minutes of the game and was crucial on defence during large periods of the game when Pau dominated the game before Stade Francais ran away with it in the second half.
