Fresh injury concerns for Wales as Biggar suffers horrible-looking injury

Welsh flyhalf Dan Biggar had to be helped from the field with a serious-looking knee injury. Biggar was released from the Wales' squad along with a number of his teammates who featured across the Premiership this weekend. The pivot started Northampton's clash with Saracens on Saturday afternoon but last just under 20 minutes, giving Wales a big injury worry before their Twickenham date next weekend.

He had to be helped from the pitch at Franklin's Gardens after appearing to land awkwardly after taking a high ball. Pictures show him clearly in pain after the incident.

It leaves Wales facing a potential huge problem as they head to Twickenham for their penultimate Six Nations clash next week. Owen Williams has already been ruled out through injury while Gareth Anscombe is still on the mend with Jarrod Evans the only flyhalf in the squad currently.

Elsewhere, Rhys Patchell has been progressing well in his recovery from a shoulder injury which has kept him out of the game for three months.

Sam Davies could be an option to be called up while Rhys Preistland is still ineligible for the side.
