Former Harlequin Karl Dickson set for Premiership Rugby refereeing bow
- 1952
Former Harlequins scrum-half Karl Dickson will referee his first ever Aviva Premiership Rugby match this weekend when Gloucester Rugby meet Saracens on Friday night.
The Cherry & Whites welcome the league-leaders to Kingsholm and Dickson will be assisted by Peter Allan and Jack Makepeace for the match.
Dickson made 167 appearances for Harlequins before announcing his retirement from playing in April and heading into full-time refereeing.
Having worked his way up through the leagues while a player, Dickson took charge of Scarlets v Exeter Chiefs in the Anglo-Welsh Cup last weekend.
Dickson has been ear-marked for the top of the game by former international referee Tony Spreadbury ever since his switch away from playing.
