Fiji's participation in the Autumn Nations Cup under threat - report

Fiji could miss out on the opportunity of featuring in the Autumn Nations Cup according to a report by Midi Olympique.

The French newspaper has suggested that Fiji's opener against France in Vannes on Sunday could be called off with 'several' Covid-19 cases in the Fijian squad.

The Six Nations committee, who are the organising body of the Autumn Nations Cup, will meet today to make a final decision on the fixture.

According to the report, France's medical commission suggested that the game should not take place due to the several Covid-19 cases in the Fiji squad.

Fiji's participation in the competition will also come into the spotlight with Vern Cotter's side to take on Italy next week.

Fiji announced their squad earlier today, where Fiji Rugby Chief Executive Officer confirmed that tests conducted after relocating to their tournament base returned a single positive case of COVID 19.

France were set to name their side to take on France at 11am (UK Time) today but they have since delayed their team announcement.
