England Women on track for Grand Slam while men remain in the hunt

England triumphed over Wales to claim the Triple Crown and number 1 spot on the Six Nations log. The English found themselves with a comfortable 33-16 lead after 60 minutes, thanks to tries from Anthony Watson, Elliot Daly and Manu Tuilagi (who received a red card towards the conclusion of the game). 

Wales fought back, however, with two tries courtesy of Dan Biggar and Justin Tupiric but it was too little, too late for the men in red. Wales have now suffered three successive Six Nations defeats, a situation they have not experienced since 2007. 

At the final whistle the score stood at 33-30.

"I thought we stayed calm in key moments," England captain Owen Farrell said.

"We were composed. Wales are a great team, they're always going to throw everything at us and have their moments, which they did."

England Women

The Red Roses thumped the Welsh 66-7 in a 10-try blitz in front of a record crowd at Twickenham Stoop on Saturday, keeping their position at the top of the standings and securing the sought-after Triple Crown. The game was also a milestone for hooker Amy Cokayne, who won her 50th cap for the national side. 

England's tries came via Poppy Cleall (3), Katy Daley-Mclean, Vicky Fleetwood, Harriet Millar-Mills, Zoe Aldcroft, Hannah Botterman, Amy Cokayne and Sarah McKenna.

England U20 Men

The England U20s succumbed to a 1-point (23-22) defeat against Wales at Kingsholm Stadium on the weekend. 

Wales' tries in the first half came courtesy of Sam Costelow and Bradley Roderick, taking them to 14 points to England's 5 from a Emmanuel Iyogun.

England's fly-half George Barton crossed the whitewash after half-time, giving his team new hope, before his opposite number, Sam Costelow, slotted a penalty immediately after.

The home side's third try went unconverted and the Welsh added another three points to their tally to take the score to 20-15.

England then took the lead through a Jack Van Poortvliet try which Barton duly converted, however, Sam Costelow kicked over another penalty before the final whistle to seal the result.
