England v Australia | Winners and Losers
- 389
The Wallabies shocked England at Twickenham by scoring more points than they have ever done against the hosts. A shock loss for England, here are our Winners and Losers.
Winners
Joseph Sua'ali'i:
At 21, in your first professional game at rugby union, Joseph Sua'ali'i did not look out of place in the very challenging position of 13. The league convert showed some great touches and will earn many more appearances for the Wallabies
Maro Itoje:
While on first watch it looked as though he had a quiet game but Itoje was the top tackler on the night with 22 and showed some gratitude touches up against a solid Wallaby tight 5 and loose trio.
Angus Bell:
Bell beat more defenders than any other player. He had a great game in the tight and was heavily involved.
Tom Wright:
Wright was always a threat from full back and showed great touches with good vision. An underrated performance.
Losers:
Steve Borthwick:
Borthwick will be feeling the pressure having lost two games in a row that could very easily have been wins. While last weeks loss could be be put down to some poor performances and questionable substitutions, this weeks loss will provide more questions and pressure.
Tom Curry:
Curry was forced off after being knocked out and will not be available next week when England face the Springboks.
