Dupont Nears Long-Awaited Return

After being sidelined since his knee injury last March, Antoine Dupont recently celebrated some good news with the extension of his contract at Stade Toulousain until 2031. Another positive moment could soon follow, as the scrum half’s long awaited return to competition appears to be getting closer every day.

We are now entering the final stretch. After months of recovery, Dupont is expected to make his comeback soon, starting with his club, Stade Toulousain. The French captain has withdrawn from the national team’s autumn internationals, which begin this Saturday, in order to focus on returning to full fitness.

Training with the French team
Although Dupont will not play in the match against South Africa, he remains in Marcoussis with the national squad to support his teammates and continue his individual preparation. The latest news is encouraging: according to L’Équipe and RMC Sport, Dupont took part in the team’s training session on Tuesday.

“It is good to have him here with us, and as you have seen, he seems to be doing very well,” said assistant coach Laurent Sempéré during a press conference. “Antoine is the team captain, he is in the recovery phase, and he is very important for the group. It is reassuring and motivating to have him with us.”
