Connacht vs. Ospreys Top Performers
- 1334
Tiernan O’ Halloran
Made the difference on attack for his side in difficult windy conditions at the Sportsground. He made the most metres out of any player and provided a crucial turnover at the end of the first-half that led to the bonus-point try. The Connacht full-back made all of his tackles and was calm presence around the park, often making the right decisions at important moments.
Kieran Marmion
The Ireland scrum-half, making his recent return to rugby following an injury, proved to be the difference in this fixture, with his game management and running ability helping Connacht play in the right areas on a difficult day for the halves. He made 35 metres from 5 carries and was physical when taking the ball to contact. His two tries in the opening half gave Connacht a healthy lead to defend into the wind after the break. His performance will certainly lead to his inclusion in the national team against France next weekend.
Colby Faingaa
The former Brumbies openside had a stand-out game for the Irish province, he carried strongly and slowed down Ospreys possession at the breakdown on many occasions. He performed his core duties superbly and led the tackle count with 13. He is proving to be a shrewd addition by Andy Friend.
