Connacht squad update

The Connacht medical staff have issued updates, confirming that Irish international Kieran Marmion requires surgery on an ankle injury that will leave him unavailable for selection until February.
Marmion first picked up the injury playing for Connacht in October’s historic win in Ulster and will undergo surgery tomorrow.
“He was brilliant against New Zealand,” said Connacht coach Andy Friend.
“For Kieran, he suffered that foot and ankle injury in the first 45 seconds of the Ulster match and that has hampered him since then.
“He is a tough man and he managed to get through a few games but the bottom line is that there is an underlying issue there.
‘The collective decision from the IRFU and from Connacht was to look after him and fix it as quickly as possible. Hence the reason to get the surgery done.”
Paul Boyle (shoulder), Cillian Gallagher (head), Matt Healy (foot), David Heffernan (ankle), Eoghan Masterson (thumb) and Peter McCabe (head) have all returned to full team training.
Boyle, Healy and Mccabe have all travelled as part of the squad to South Africa.
Connacht also confirm that Conan O'Donnell has undergone surgery on a hand injury he sustained in the Dragons game and will be out of action until December.
