Brumbies nil the Force to go top of the Super Rugby AU table

A powerful and precise performance from the Brumbies saw them ease to a comfortable 24-0 victory over the Western Force at Leichhardt Oval in Sydney on Saturday. The Brumbies' victory sees them top the Super Rugby AU table with 14 points, four clear of the Reds who are on a bye this weekend.
The Brumbies were without their star flyhalf Noah Lolesio this weekend but the fellow youngster Bayley Kuenzle stepped up for the clash and produced a fantastic performance in his run-on debut. The Brumbies raced out of the blocks scoring two quick tries inside the opening five minutes with both tries coming from the Brumbies attacking the short-side sprinting in tries from their own half.

The first saw Wallaby Pete Samu dart down the blindside and found Joe Powell in support with the scrum-half linking up with Rob Valetini who offloaded to Tevita Kuridrani and Tom Wright finishing off the superb try. Samu made the break once again for the second try and sent Tom Wright sprinting through a hole in the defence with Joe Powell running a great support line and sending Irae Simone on to score with the inside centre another player who produced an excellent performance.
Kuenzle converted from the touch line and surged the Brumbies into a 12-0 lead. The Force did enjoy stints of possession and territory and often looked as if they could bash their way over the tryline but the Brumbies door remained firmly shut throughout the 80 minutes.
Eventually, the Force found a way into the match, but for all the possession and territory that they had, they couldn't crash over from close range. The second-half started in the same fashion as the first with the Brumbies scoring early on through flanker Will Miller after a great 50-22 kick from Irae Simone that put the side in a favourable position.
A Brumbies win wouldn't be complete without a rolling maul try with hooker Connal McInerney putting the cherry on top of a superb Brumbies victory as he scored after 65 minutes.
