Brendan Macken has answered a Gloucester injury SOS after Henry Trinder was ruled out for the season.

Trinder will go under the knife on Tuesday and faces yet another extended spell on the sidelines due to the knee injury he suffered in the last week’s bonus-point victory over London Welsh.

And Gloucester have wasted no time in calling in the reinforcements by signing Leinster’s Macken on loan for the remainder of the season.
