Ben Morgan signs new deal at Gloucester

Gloucester Rugby have today confirmed that England international Ben Morgan has signed a new deal to remain at Kingsholm.

The number eight moved to Kingsholm from the Scarlets in the summer of 2012 and has gone on to become a crucial part of the first team, closing in on 150 competitive appearances.

Morgan has developed into one of the leaders in the Gloucester Rugby squad, captaining the side on several occasions in recent seasons.  He has also arguably played some of his best rugby in Cherry and White in the past couple of seasons, 2018-19 seeing him score seven tries in 27 appearances.

Director of Rugby David Humphreys commented:

“Ben has been a revelation for us over the past couple of years. He has worked so hard on his fitness and his skills in a bid to contribute as much as he possibly can, and it’s certainly paid off in terms of his performances.

“He has also become a real leader in the group. That’s not just in terms of captaining the side on a matchday, he also helps to drive standards in all areas. We’re delighted that he’ll be staying with Gloucester Rugby.”
