Australian Kieran Longbottom ready for England duty

Kieran Longbottom, Saracens’ Australian tight-head prop, has announced his
intention to represent England.

The 28-year-old was born and raised in
Perth, but has never represented Australia and qualifies for England through
his late maternal grandmother, Betty Farrah, who was born in Halifax.



Tight-head prop is the weakest area of depth in the England squad with the
World Cup now under a year away, and Longbottom has already made an
encouraging first impression, getting the better of Joe Marler, the England
loose-head prop, in Saracens 39-0 victory against Harlequins last week.
