All Black centre Anton Lienert-Brown set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines

All Blacks and Chiefs' centre Anton Lienert-Brown is set to be sidelined for six months.

The 26-year-old underwent shoulder surgery after suffering an injury in Super Rugby Pacific at the weekend.

Lienert-Brown confirmed the news on Instagram.

“Shoulder is going to need a bit more work than I was hoping,” Lienert-Brown wrote.

“Going under the knife this week which will put me out for 6 months. A bump in the road but the journey continues. I’ll be back ... appreciate all the support”.

He was forced off the field for the Chiefs on Saturday when he took a knock on his right shoulder.

The Chiefs went on to lose the match 25-0, the first time the side were unable to score a single point in Super Rugby history.

The injury rules Liernert-Brown out of the upcoming test series against Ireland while he is likely to miss the Rugby Championship too.
