21 years ago today, Brian O'Driscoll's hattrick secures historic victory over France

On this day in 2000, a 21-year-old centre by the name of Brian O'Driscoll scored a hat-trick in Paris for Ireland.
Ireland had not beaten France in Paris for 28 years heading into the encounter but the three tries from the young centre saw them to victory with a David Humphreys's late penalty goal proving pivitol.
France led 22-14 going into the last quarter but Ireland capitalised on some dreadful defensive lapses to win 27-25

"I don't normally single out players," grinned veteran Mick Galwey, "but today was different. Brian was magnificent, out of this world. He was the difference between the two teams. Three tries in Paris is a mind-boggling achievement. I've only known the lad a few weeks, but I already recognise he is a very special talent. He is a world beater."
It's fair to say that O'Driscoll would go on to have an incredible career.
