2018 Super Rugby Round 19: Sharks vs Jaguares
- 1240
The Sharks secured a play-off berth as they ground out a 20-10 home win in a do or die clash against the Jaguares. The Sharks opened the scoring with two penalties but then picked up a yellow card, with the resulting Jaguares penalty making it 6-3. The Sharks then crossed for the games first try to build a 13-3 lead which they would take into the break. The Sharks ran in their second try 12 minutes into the second half to take control of the match at 20-3. The Jaguares hit back with their first try to reduce the deficit to 10 points with around 15 minutes remaining. There would be no comeback however, as the Sharks sneak into the play-offs and head to New Zealand to take on the table topping Crusaders, while the Jaguares travel to face the Lions.
