Waikato host Southland in week 5 of the ITM Cup in Hamilton.
Waikato is coming off a thumping 50-28 home loss to Auckland and will be looking to bounce back in front of their home crowd. The home side lie in 5th position in the Premiership standings, with two wins and two defeats from their four matches.
Southland haven’t had much success in the competition to date, with one win and a draw to go along with three defeats, but do hold that fourth spot in the Championship log. The visitors were humiliated last week, suffering a heavy 53-3 loss to unbeaten Wellington.
With both sides conceding 50 points in their last outings, they will look to put in a much better defensive performance in this encounter.
