Begles win possession of the ball and clear down field. Clermont have a lineout just inside their own half.
Clermont have a scrum on halfway. The 7 man scrum holds out very well for the backline to get clean ball.
Both sides are playing at a very fast pace. Begles seem to be handling the pace better with very accurate passes and good decision making. That being said, Clermont are very much still in the game.
Begles regather the ball from their kickoff and put pressure on the Clermont line. Timani goes for an interception and is judged to have deliberately knocked the ball on to stop the Begles play. He is given a yellow and Begles line up a easy shot at poles.
Deliberate knock-down
Seconds after the first failed penalty, Clermont win another penalty for playing the ball on the ground. Laidlaw makes no mistake this time. It is a one point game.
The ball sails to the right-hand side of the poles for Laidlaws first miss of the match.
Clermont are turning up the heat on attack. They gain the ball from the 22m dropout and go on the counter. A brilliant linebreak leads to yet another penalty near the Begles 22m line. Laidlaw lines up another shot at goals to narrow the lead once more.
