Ulster take a 21-14 lead over the Ospreys into halftime. The Ospreys started strongly, opening the scoring with an early penalty and try to lead 8-0. Ulster hit back with their first score to trail by a single point. A penalty saw the Ospreys extend their lead to 11-7, but they then picked up a yellow card. Ulster capitalized on their numerical advantage straight away, with their second try seeing them edge ahead 14-11. A late penalty saw the Ospreys level matters, but Ulster would have the final say of the half with their third try with the final play of the half seeing them up by seven points at the break.
