Toulouse take a 13-7 lead over Ulster into halftime. Toulouse struck first with a try six minutes in to lead 7-0. Toulouse then picked up a red card just ten minutes in, meaning they will play the remainder of the match a player down. Ulster capitalized almost immediately with a try to level matters at seven apiece. Despite their numerical disadvantage, Toulouse edged ahead with a penalty but then missed a shot at goal midway through the half. Toulouse would however add another three via the boot with a penalty with the final play of the half for a six point lead.
