Connacht take an 18-13 lead over the Scarlets into halftime. The Scarlets opened the scoring with an early penalty and scored the game's first try approaching the midpoint of the half to lead 10-0. Connacht hit back immediately with a try and kept the scoreboard ticking over, slotting two quick penalties to edge ahead 11-10. The Scarlets regained the lead with a penalty shortly after, but a Connacht try with the final play of the half sees the visitors in front by five points at the break.
