Back to back defending champions and three time winners (1987, 2011, 2015), New Zealand and the number one ranked side heading into the World Cup, Ireland clash in what should be an epic second Quarter-Final. New Zealand topped pool B with wins over South Africa, Namibia and Canada, with their match against Italy being cancelled due to Typhoon Hagibis. Ireland finished as runners up in Pool A, with victories over Scotland, Russia and Samoa, but went down to hosts Japan in a major upset to set up this Quarter-Final. The All Blacks have historically dominated this fixture, winning 28 of the 31 matches between the sides with a single draw. However, Ireland's two victories have come in the last three meetings, winning in 2016 and the last encounter between the sides in 2018. We are set for an intense battle with the loser going home and the winner moving on to the semi-finals to face England.
