Leicester Tigers have waited a long time to avenge their 28-9 loss to Brive in the 1996/97 Heineken Champions Cup final, but Friday provides an opportunity, albeit in Round 1 of the European Rugby Challenge Cup.

Last season Leicester participated in their inaugural Challenge Cup campaign, progressing to the semi-final stage, after winning all three of their home games in the pool stage.

Brive have lost seven of their last eight away games against Premiership opposition in the Challenge Cup, a 25-24 win against Worcester in October 2016 being the exception.
