That is surely the nail in the coffin for Scotland as Lynne Cantwell makes no mistake this time around picking up a loose pass from Staple and avoiding the tackle from Law and going over in the corner. Stapleton again misses from the corner and Ireland have a commanding 27-0 lead.
Ireland have most of the ball in this half and are unlucky not have their 5th try of the game as Cantwell knocks the ball on when she seemed destined to score.
Scotland have been blown away in this opening quarter by the defending champions and look dead and buried. They will need to do a lot more if they have any chance of getting back into this game.

Again Ireland go on the attack and it is Miller again who is causing Scotland all sorts of trouble and she looks set for another try, but Katy Green tackle her just before the line. Ireland go in from the side gifting Scotland the penalty and a chance to clear their lines.
Alison Miller continues where she left off in last years tournament and gets her first try of the championship. Ireland again worked it well and Miller Jinked her way past the Scottish defence and goes over for Ireland second try of the game. Stapletons makes no mistake this time as Ireland now have a commanding lead.
So nearly a second try for Ireland as the ball is spread out to debutant Casey but she is tackled just short of the line. Ireland continue to pile on the pressure and Murphy picks it up and goes for the line but is held up, Scrum to Scotland.
