Both teams are on the field and kick-off of this Ranfurly Shield challenge is just moments away
Hawkes Bay host North Harbour in week 4 of the ITM Cup in Napier with more than just log points up for grabs as the much coveted Ranfurly Shield will be on the line.
Holders, Hawkes Bay remain undefeated with three wins from three and have looked mightily impressive so far this season as they top the Championship table with maximum points. The home side is without Zac Guildford for the next month after he collected a four-week suspension, but there’s still a ton of talent in the Shield holder’s backline and they will be a dangerous proposition to defend against.
North Harbour provided a strong second-half recovery at Invercargill last week that took them to their first win of the season 26-25 over Southland. They will no doubt be buoyed from this victory and with so much at stake will be ever so eager to cause an upset. As is always the case when the Ranfurly shield is on the line, expect the unexpected.
