Mckenzie took a penalty deep in his own half quickly, gave Lienert-Brown a well executed inside pass to leave him with a bit of space, and he ran it home.
After several digs at the line the ball literally popped out of the ruck into Whetton's hands. He reacted well and got over.
Waikato get their first points of the game after Uhila scored off a rolling maul.
Auckland had set up a rolling maul, got the ball to Moala who crashed through several players to create space and gain yards before the ball was given to Anscombe to run it home at pace.
Needless to say, that half was all Auckland. Auckland 34-0 Waikato. Waikato gave the ball away cheaply, and it really hurt them. It is going to have to be the cliche'd "game of two halves" if Waikato hope to salvage this game. Stranger things have been seen in the world of sport, but with the way Auckland are playing I can't see any way back in it for Waikato. We'll have to wait and see what the second half has to offer.
Polwart ripped the ball out of the runner's hands, Auckland spread it wide quickly, before Waikato were able to set themselves for Moala to score. Auckland are on fire.
Edwards found the gap after running a great line. Auckland are taking this game out of reach early in this game. Ben Lam has been exceptional in this first half.
After Lam's explosive break, Auckland spread the ball quickly to the hooker on the wing. Great try.
Lam picks up a loose kick and gets Auckland into the 22m.
Polwart didn't enter through the gate. Waikato get out of their 22m, but knock on their own line out.
