Having arrived at Sudbury as a teenager, Dallaglio was committed to the Wasps club throughout his playing career spanning over 18 years.
June 2007 saw Dallaglio become one of 47 players chosen by England coach Brian Ashton to attend a pre-World Cup training camp and he was later named in the 30-man World Cup squad.
On 3 January 2008, Dallaglio announced that he was retiring from international rugby with immediate effect and from domestic rugby.
