Ryan Wilson on playing in two competitions at the same time

Ryan Wilson and Schalk Brits was on a media call for the Vodacom United Rugby Championship”

Wilson was asked what he thinks about the URC and Champions Cup/ Challenge Cup at the same time.

“Personally, I love it”. Sometimes you need to freshen things up and it deepens the squad. It gives more opportunities to players.

“If you narrow it down to one competition you would probably end up with the same 23-30 players playing every single week.With the two competitions it is offering a lot more opportunities for players and you are seeing it with Leinster. They get to blood a lot of young talent in the URC and that can only be good for them."

Wilson also mentioned in his playing days at Glasgow they used over 50 players in a season which is amazing. He goes on to say you can see what team is the strongest because they can’t just lean on the 23. They have a bigger squad.

"It is good for the rugby; it is good for the sport and good for growing the game."
